Exchange Hosting - iPhone IMAP Configuration for Exchange 2010

Prerequisites

Active Exchange services, see Add Hosted Services.

Summary

This article shows how to configure Activesync for Exchange 2010 on an iPhone


1. From the home screen of the iPhone locate and click on the Settings icon.

2. Click on Mail, Contacts, Calendars

3. Click on Add Account...

4. From the available account types, select Other.

5. Of the available options under Other accounts, select Add Mail Account.

6. The setup will prompt for the account settings, enter the following information:

  1. Name: Full name of the user.
  2. Address: The primary email alias of the Exchange mailbox.
  3. Password: Password associated with the email address (Verify username/password in webmail).
  4. Description: Select a unique, distinctive name to designate the account.

Verify the settings against the image below, then click Next.

7. After a few moments the account will fail to configure and ask for more detailed settings, select IMAP then enter the following:

  • Name: Full name of the user.
  • Address: The primary email alias of the Exchange mailbox.
  • Description: Select a unique, distinctive name to designate the account.

Incoming & Outgoing Server Settings:

  • Host Name: ex2010.myhostedservice.com
  • User Name: The full primary email address
  • Password: Password associated with the email address.

After the settings have been entered select the Next button

8. Another brief period will pass and the IMAP account will configure on the iPhone displaying the following screen. At this time the setup is complete.
