Prerequisites
Summary
This article demonstrates how to download the offline address book in both Outlook 2007, and 2010
|
Download the Offline Address Book in Outlook 2010:
1. With Outlook 2010 open locate the Send/Receive tab along the Outlook ribbon and click it. |
2. Under the column furthest to the left click Send/Receive Groups to expand the associated menu. |

3. Within the menu expanded select Download Address Book... |

4. A window entitled Offline Address Book, will open displaying the download options for the offline address book. Uncheck the option Download changes since last Send/Receive, and then click OK. |

5. After the window disappears, Outlook will proceed to download the OAB. The progress of this can be monitored by the green status bar in the lower right hand corner of Outlook. The amount of time this takes is contingent upon the size of the organization in question. Once complete, Outlook will display the familiar, "All Folders are up to date," and the changes will be reflected in Outlook*. |
*It is recommended that a comparison be made of the address list in webmail and local Outlook client. If the two match the download was successful, otherwise close/reopen Outlook and try again. After repeated failures contact support@itsolutionsnow.com |

2. Hover the mouse cursor over the immediate option below Tools, Send/Receive, to display the sub-menu. |

3. With the menus fully expanded, locate and click on Download Address Book... |

4. A window entitled Download Offline Address Book will open displaying the download options. Uncheck the option Download changes since last Send/Receive, and then click OK. |
