Prerequisites
Summary
This article demonstrates how setup a POP3 account in Outlook 2011.
1. Opening Outlook 2011 for the first time, click the E-mail account icon.

2. Enter the following information to configure the account:
- Email Address: The full primary email address of the user account.
- Password: Associated password credential.
- User name: This is the windows pre-2000 user name. This is found in the services control panel, under Hosted Organizations>Organization Name>Mailboxes>Mailbox Name>Setup Tab enter "netplexity\" as a prefix to that username.
- Type: POP
- Incoming Server: ex2010.myhostedservice.com
- SSL & Port #: Ensure that both boxes are checked and enter 995 as the incoming port number.
- Outgoing Server: ex2010.myhostedservice.com
- SSL & Port#: Both options are again checked with 587 as the outgoing port number.
After the settings have been entered click Add Account.

3. The preliminary configuration will compare data against the exchange server, and will return asking for two new fields:
- Account Description: Enter a distinctive name for the account.
- Full Name: Enter the full name of the end user.
At the bottom of the screen click the More Options... button to configure additional outgoing server settings.

4. Configure the following for the advanced outgoing server options:
- Authentication: User name and password.
- User Name: The Windows pre-2000 user name as determined in Step 2-3.
- Password: Associated password.
- Unqualified Domain: netplexity
Click OK to finish the setup for the IMAP configuration.
