SharePoint Hosting - Add A New Link To the Quick Launch Toolbar & Change The Order

Active Exchange or SharePoint services, see Add Hosted Services.

 

Summary

This article will show how to add a new link to the Quick Launch Toolbar, and change the order.

 


 

1. Navigate and login to the organization's SharePoint website.

 

2. From the site home, click on Site Actions, and then click Site Settings.

3. Locate the section entitled Look & Feel, and click Quick launch.

4. Click New Navigation Link.

5. The Quick Launch link configuration page will now be displayed. Enter the following information:

  1. URL: The URL of the pictures, list, library, or discussions to be added. This is a SharePoint URL found within the library/list settings (or the URL bar in a web browser).
  2. Type The Description: Describes the link to the user.
  3. Heading: The pertinent category to place the new link under.

After the configuration is done for the link, click OK.

6. The new link will now be displayed under the previously selected category, to modify either the order of the link within the category, or the category's order itself, click Change Order.

7. Within the Change Order page the admin has the ability to reorganize categories, and links within those categories. As highlighted in the below picture clicking either associated arrow will allow this manipulation to occur. Once the revised order is satisfactory, click the OK button.

    I have seen lots of post of sharepoint site but this almost the best feature.really its too much awesome.now it can paste the new link to toolbar more easily.
