Add A Rule In Outlook 2010

Summary

This article demonstrates how to create a rule in Outlook 2010.

 

1. With Outlook 2010 click the home tab, and then the Rules icon.

2. Clicking on Rules will reveal a submenu from that menu click Manage Rules & Alerts.

3. In this example a rule will be applied to messages received, but it is ultimately up to the end user which rule to create and what will best organize the inbox. Clicking on Apply rule on messages I receive, and then clicking Next> will start the rules wizard.

4. Follow the steps of the Rule Wizard, until the wizard finish. At that point specify a name for the rule, ensure that it is ran on mail already in the inbox, and that it is turned on. When those are selected click Finish.
