Clear The Outlook Name Cache

Prerequisites

Active Exchange services, see Add Hosted Services. Properly configured Autodiscover record.

Summary

This article demonstrates how to clear the auto-complete cache in Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010, and Outlook 2013.

It is possible for the auto-complete cache to become outdated, or incorrect in pointing to an old server address for an email. In that event it can cause email to be routed incorrectly, resulting in failed deliveries, and non-delivery receipts. By clearing the auto-complete cache, Outlook will seek out the email address anew with updated routing information.

Outlook 2013 Clear Name Cache Instructions:

1. Select File
